A Question for You...
OK. I've got a question for you all: Why don't my photo note cards sell well?
My listings show which photos are in each set, so people know what they'll be getting. (You can click the image above and see the listings.) And I think the photos are all very clear. What am I doing wrong? Is the price too high perhaps? What can I do differently?
I'd really appreciate your honest opinion on this.
Remember that your response will enter you into my monthly drawing! ;)

I like your cards. They seem like a reasonable price for a set of 8. The photography is beautiful. I especially like the dandelion!
I wish I had an answer for you. They are beautiful and at a great price. Maybe it's just a matter of time for them to get noticed?
I know that personally I don't really like photo note cards. Not sure why, I just don't. The pictures are great and the price is very fair. Hopefully someone will see them. I have the same questions about some of my stuff, but I figure it's just not everyone's thing!
I think they are great the way they are- selling on Etsy can be tough right now...don't give up though
I think they look great myself, but it might just be that there are so many botanical photos on etsy that unless they find yours first they might have bought from somebody earlier with a similar style.
You could add some special feature to them that is vastly different from everybody else's and point it out while you're promoting like for instance make your photos po-up when you open the card, put a little pocket inside for a small gift, or include a button with each card with one of your photos on it and maybe a catchy saying on it, or make the photos of some rare subject.
you have to do a ridiculous amount of advertising...that is why. no one sees them like you would like... the more exposure the more of a chance to get them sold.
They are nice cards, but I think that's the problem, they are just nice cards. With a botanical card, they're going to need some sort of wow factor. A really exotic plant (which is relative), a play on focus), or something more than a photo. If I received them as a gift, I'd be more than happy to use them, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to purchase them.
I really like them. The dandelion is my favorite also. It's just a really interesting subject up close.
I love photo cards in general and think 8 cards for $10 is a very good value.
Maybe its an issue with advertising, promotion, getting noticed, etc. If it's just recent, I think everything is slow right now.
